Keeping the Inspiration Alive 

Sometimes I lose the desire to paint. I think it happens to all of us. That’s when I start looking – not for something big, but for a small spark that might awaken my curiosity again. Maybe a subject I’ve never tried before. A color combination I haven’t quite mastered. Or a subtle effect that no one else would notice – but for me, it might be just the thing that brings back the creative spark.

I often find inspiration in other artists’ paintings. Not always in the full composition, but in a small area that catches my eye. I can’t help but wonder: How did they do that? And how could I create something similar – in my own way?

For me, every new painting needs to be a challenge. If there’s nothing new to discover or struggle with, I lose interest. It may not be visible from the outside – someone else might see just another watercolor – but to me, each painting is a new journey. A new chance to explore, experiment, fail, succeed.

So next time you feel stuck, try something unexpected. A new color, a different paper, a subject you’ve never considered. Not because it has to turn out great, but because it might be the beginning of something new.

That’s how I find my way back – and maybe it will work for you too.
